Facilities
The Department of Metallurgy and Materials (DIMM-ESIQIE) has an important number of laboratories and facilities, which can be used by all the member of this institute. Some of the most important general laboratories are:
X-ray diffraction laboratory
Microscope laboratory (SEM, TEM, and AFM)
Thermal analysis laboratory (TGA, DTA, DSC and TMA)
Mechanical test laboratory,
Hydrometallurgy, among others.

Besides the above mentioned general laboratories, the Advanced Functional Ceramics Group has the following facilities:
Automated gas sorption analyzer Surface area and pore size measurements (Autosorb iQ from Quanthachrome).
High temperature DTA-TGA equipment (Regulus 2500 STA, from Netzch)
High temperature TMA Analyzer(SETSYS Evolution from SETARAM)
Microwave Hydrothermal Reactor(Flexiwave from Milestone).
Laboratory Spray DryerOperating temperature from 40-220 °C ( Mini Spray Dryer from Yamato).
Gas chromatographyAparatus equiped with TCD and FID detectors (GC-2014 from Shimadzu)
